《昨天華府記者會，我回應記者提問》

二戰後，同盟國把被中國驅逐的獨裁政權丟來台灣、把「一個中國」的問題丟給台灣的歷史時空，早已與現今真實的台灣脫節，更與台灣的民意違背。因此，我們不僅期盼台美之間包括國防、經貿、文化上的交流都能夠更加緊密、互惠，也希望美國新政府能修正不合時宜、虛幻的「一個中國」政策，承認台灣這個友善的民主國家的存在，讓雙方的合作奠基在「真實」之上。
我們相信，奠基在真實之上的國際關係，台灣將能穩健的與國際社會進行更多正面的交流與合作，完整的履行作為全球公民一份子的義務與責任。我們，台灣將會是國際社會一個可靠、友善的夥伴！
此行拜會美國相關部門，因此也寫了英文版備忘如下：
After the Second World War, the Allies left the authoritarian regime that had been expelled from China in Taiwan and had also left the one-China problem to Taiwan, but it is clear now that this historical problem cannot be farther from Taiwan’s current reality and more contradictory to Taiwan’s public opinion.
We therefore not only look forward to greater exchanges between Taiwan and the US on national defense, trade and culture, but also hope that the new administration could make revisions to the outdated, no-longer appropriate and illusory one-China policy and officially recognize Taiwan for the Taiwan-US bilateral relationship to be based on “truth.”
We believe that only when the international relations is truth-based can Taiwan engage in more positive exchanges and cooperation and fulfill our obligations and shoulder our responsibilities as a global citizen. Taiwan would definitely be a reliable and friendly partner for the international society.
